RMP Policy Release 24-02
The National Association of Assistant U.S. Attorneys is writing to express our deep concerns regarding the recent RMP Policy Release 24-02, which addresses reimbursement for airport parking. While we understand the intent behind the policy, we believe it will have unintended consequences that will ultimately increase costs for the government.
Specifically, the policy's limitation on reimbursement for parking to lower cost, often uncovered lots presents significant risks to travelers’ personal vehicles. In regions across the country, where weather conditions can be unpredictable year-round, leaving a vehicle exposed to elements like hail, bird droppings, and other hazards can lead to costly repairs.
